The Creation of SolaDeck
February 03, 2010
After many tests, prototypes, and trial runs, RSTC Enterprises submitted the first generation SolaDeck to ETL for UL50 Type 3R listings in August of 2007. One month later, SolaDeck passed the UL50 Type 3R evaluation and ETL listed SolaDeck as an enclosure for outdoor use.
Our hard work and dedication paid off in October of 2007 when we released SolaDeck to the photo voltaic industry at the Solar Power International held in Long Beach, California. Word of this innovative flashed, roof-mount PV enclosure spread quickly and soon SolaDeck was being used by PV panel installers throughout the country.
In November of 2008 RSTC modified the first generation SolaDeck after receiving feedback and suggestions from the industry. These modifications led to the creation of a second generation of the SolaDeck UL50 Type 3R enclosure.
As the use of SolaDeck grew in the industry, so did the need for a new type of SolaDeck. Thus the SolaDeck UL1741 was born and in February, 2009. The two new models were submitted to ETL for listing. After passing the UL1741 evaluation, these two models were ETL listed as enclosure for combing PV strings.
December, 2009 brought even more success when RSTC was granted the patent for SolaDeck and flashed electrical junction boxes and enclosures, making RSTC a leader in solar energy.
RSTC Enterprises is continuously striving to design more effective, inventive, and efficient products for the solar industry. A leader in the field for flashed junction enclosures, RSTC's SolaDeck combiner/enclosures and accessories are rapidly becoming a standard in solar industry.
